Tyco Hot Wheels Flash Fire buggy

Grade: B-

"All of this technology & power comes at a price. When it was first released, the Flash Fire cost $89.99 US. Many places now have it for under $70, but the catch is, you still have to buy the Pro Flex Pack system, which can cost up to $30. That makes this a $100 car! I can't help but feel that the price is a bit steep and the inability to reuse the battery either from or for another car forces me to deduct some points. For $100, I'd at least expect something with exchangable or upgradable parts like tires, gears, or shocks -- something semi-pro. The Flash Fire is a capable vehicle, fast and fun, just a little on the expensive side. "

Air Hogs Havoc Micro Helicopter

Grade: B

"The Havoc is one of the smallest things you can fly, and it's a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. It just takes a fair amount of skill to fly it smoothly. It's also not exactly the hottest-looking toy you can get. For $30, though, it's worthwhile for indoor fun for fans of sky travel who don't quite have the space for a Reflex or don't want to spend much money to get in the air. "

Venom Micro Rescue Helicopter

Grade: B

"I like the Micro Rescue! It's not as stable in flight as the Air Hogs Havoc, but it looks a whole lot better and seems to require a little less skill to fly around. I was surprised by the durability, given the really thin plastic parts, but I do wish that main gear was covered so I didn't have to worry about grabbing it during hand launches. All in all, though, it's a good deal! This one will probably go into my permanent collection. "

Nikko Suzuki GSX-R1000 & Ducati Desmosedici

Grade: A-

"This is a really, really tough one to score. On the one hand, I was a bit disappointed by the performance of these bikes. Going straight, I wanted them to be faster. Turning, I wanted them to turn more sharply. With the amount of space required to run them and to make them turn, it's difficult to race a pair around a course without a lot of practice to really build up driver skill. On the other hand, the bikes look amazing, and the leaning riders with turning heads will neverget old. Plus, Nikko has again come through with good value by including a battery & charger.

I say, get one of these bikes, find a really big parking lot and go have yourself a ball. If you get tired of it, clean it up, take off the skids, and put it on its display stand to enjoy & be proud of it for months after that. " Read the full review...
